Upon graduating, students can write the national registry exam with the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists to become a Registered Respiratory Therapist. Within the program, students become certified in Neonatal Resuscitation and also have the opportunity to become certified in Advanced Cardiac Life Support through clinical placement.

Tidewater Community College: Respiratory Therapy (RTH)
Concentrates on pharmacologic agents used in the management of the critically ill patient. Presents a basic review of cardiac anatomy and physiology, and fundamental EKG's including the dysrhythmias. The focus of the remainder of the course is lead diagnostics, including bundle branch clocks; hemiblocks; digitalis effects; myocardial ischemia, injury and infarction and related wave changes.
